Situated between Kingsbridge and Salcombe, Rafters bed and breakfast offers easy access to a wealth of local towns, villages, attractions, beaches and sporting activities.

The South Hams has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with its rolling hills, wooded river valleys, patchwork fields, sandy beaches, a spectacular coast line and small picturesque villages. There are ample opportunities to walk, sail, surf, windsurf, fish, ride, golf etc. as virtually every sport and outdoor activity is well catered for.

One mile from Rafters you can watch the waves roll in from the beach cafe, or take a bottle of wine down to the beach and see the spectacular sunsets. Thurlestone sands is also an excellent bird watching area so take your binoculars and join the 'Twitchers'.

Salcombe Estuary is one of Devon's premier sailing areas. The waters are sheltered and there are many sandy beaches and seaside coves to visit and sail between. Many people sample a weeks sailing course with the Island Cruising Club based in Salcombe.
Wildlife - in the estuary and and just out to sea, porpoises, dolphins and whales can often be seen. The area is rich in bird life including cirl bunting, egrets, peregrines, sparrowhawks and buzzards.

There is something for everyone in beautiful South
